    Just Moved to Win7

Hi all. I just moved from Win Vista to this Win 7. So far so good...

But, one feature was taken out of Win 7; you could had created any toolbars you wanted in my old Vista.

I dragged the "Computer" icon on my desktop, to a left edge of the screen, and it created a toolbar of "Computer" on the side of the screen; this feature was taken out of Win 7 for some reason. I really enjoyed a sidebar of my attached drives and cards. So I want to get something like that. Any help??

    Thank You

P.S. For now I created "SOMETHING" like that on my taskbar.

Maybe that is as good as it gets??

    Thank You folks!!

Have you tried RocketDock? I use it on XP, Vista64 and W7. You can put shortcuts to just about anything on it. That way I have similar interface on all 3 OS. Don't have to think which Windows I'm on.

Actually, you can create a new toolbar on the Windows 7 Desktop. Take a look at this instructional video Toolbars - How to Create and Use - Windows 7 and Vista (I've watched it and it's very good.)

Also, in addition to RocketDock that MilesAhead mentioned, here's some additional third party apps you can use:
    Objectdock
    Winstep Nexus Dock

For SuperBar I use Standalone Stacks 2. It uses the same stacks library as RocketDock. I have a folder with subfolders of categorized apps that I used as a toolbar for awhile. What I didn't like is it required unfolding the folders as menus with mouse hover. Way too slow and tedious. I moved it to Documents to keep my desktop clean. Then dragged each subfolder onto RocketDock. I set each folder with a custom icon to make the category obvious. (Obvious to me anyway. The teal square with the white F is my site icon to symbolize software development tools.)
