Hi, snanand, and welcome to the forums.

I haven't tried it yet, but I am about to get into using *some* *tex here real soon - I'll report back when I find out which ones work, and if they need a bit of coaxing or not.

I got it to work but only after several BSOD's. I found out it has something to do with the installer trying to access memory unavailable to it in the system page file. Disabling virtual memory long enough to install the program seems to work for me.

I wrote a more in depth post about it on my blog: A Little Off » Blog Archive » Installing MikTeX on Windows 7

Old thread, but I figured I'd mention that MikTeX and TeXnicCenter worked just fine for me. Installed them and configured them just like usual in order to test and it went without a hitch.

I had no problems with MikTex/texniccenter on Windows 7...

Btw, if you are interested in getting the Math Input Panel output into Latex try Inlage.

    Thanks...

Thanks for the link - I have a Tablet that I am just beginning to use as a tablet - i.e. note taking for classes. Seeing as I am a Math major, and am taking Complex Variables, Number Theory and Abstract Algebra, that was probably going to be my next search....now, thanks to you I don't have to search....

    Cheers! U Ben repped!

Just installed MikTeX on the RC (x64), and have been playing with it this evening.
    Working perfectly so far.:)

    Try this:

    (a) extract the miktex files.
    (b) look for the "setup-2.7.2904.exe" under MiKTeX\setup\ directory.
    (c) right-click and select "run-as administrator"

    worked for me. gl
