    Desktop

This may seem a stupid question but after you arrange your desktop icons how can you save your layout? Every time i restart my comp they are all back in the old configuration. Your help will be much appreciated.

The 64 bit shell messes up a lot of the icon saver programs. I wrote one years ago but since it's a 32 bit shell extension it doesn't work on 64 bit. I would try the freeware sites. Just search on Desktop Icon Restore or something of that nature.

I got fed up. My desktop has no icons at all. I use RocketDock and some other launchers and stacks. The only time I have an icon on the desktop is if I save a file there for a few minutes. It's gone pretty quickly.

    I'm done fighting Auto Arrange!!

download.com or softpedia should have some free ones. Just make sure they are written for 64 bit.

Thanks chaps, I've used the fences app it works great, does everyone thing I need. Just one thing though how can you make a single vertical line of icons, the least I can get is 2 lines of icons.
