    Where can one obtain msdart?

Where can one obtain msdart? I did a little searching and I'm guessing you need a Technet or MSDN subscription to get it? Please tell me that isn't so!

I think that your post might in the wrong sub-forum.

But to answer your question. If you are using W7 then msdart is part of the "Systems Recovery Disk" that you can create through Backup and Restore.

MSDARt is part of the Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP), which is only available for volume-licensed customers and for Technet/MSDN subscribers.

SIW2 mentioned in the other thread that the Microsoft Standalone System Sweeper was part of MSDaRT. Microsoft System Sweeper Post #80. I guess I should have quoted him in my post. Thats what prompted me inquire as to where you might find it.

Thats what I thought. It would be have been a nice little utility to have on a thumb drive.

the beta that i linked to above seems to be available to everyone.

i don't know how good or useful this beta is, but it seems you can freely download and play with it.

Just over a week ago we announced the new version of the Diagnostics and Recovery Toolset (DaRT), one of our most popular tools in MDOP. Today I’m happy to announce that the Beta has been released for public download.

    ...

This is a public Beta available to everyone that completes the short questionnaire.

i managed to download the beta using a non-technet windows live ID.
