Apple Mobile Device Service is not started

    Hi everyone,
Well, I have installed Itunes version 10.3.1.55 on my computer(windows7 x86), and since that Itunes refuses to sync to my Iphone. On the previous versions of Itunes everything was just fine.......but now it's making my life a living hell
I went to the Service pannel and when trying to start the AMDS and I keep gettng this error "Windows could not start the apple device service on local computer : Error1067"......I've googled the matter and seems like no one on the blogs I visited got this figured out.........Apple support is even worse, they keep telling you to install and the uninstall itunes, delete temp filesetc and try the whole thing back again.......
So, I was wondering if there was anyone out here that got this figured out...Any help would be much appreciated,

    Thnks,

    hi there:)
i don't use apple much but i found this for you

Uninstall your current Apple Mobile Support JUST THIS NOT ITUNES!
Download the 10.0.0.6.8 version of iTunes off of FileHippo.com - Download Free Software
Then Use 7-Zip http://download.cnet.com/7-Zip/3000-...-10045185.html to "View Archive"
Install the Apple Mobile Support in there.
    Restart Computer

    Hey Brianzion,
Well, I'd say the second fix(Fix Apple Mobile Device service error 1067), because ultimately this problem started after getting a premium access from megaupload, for which I had to install Megamanager......Which apparently was conflicting with the AMDS. I've cancelled the Premium account anyway(Megaupload/Megamanager bugs a lot).....On the other hand I was wandering how could Megamager or Megakey conflict with the apple software?
Anyway, I'm posting the Solution below cause I know loads of folks are still looking for a solution to this issue,
    Thnks again Brianzion
    So here's the Fix,

How-to fix error 1067 on Apple Mobile Device service?

    1. Check if you have Megamanager or Megakey or any other Megaupload software installed on Windows.
If you have Megamanager or Megakey installed, uninstall it from your Windows, then restart iTunes.

Now the iPhone or iPod should be detected on iTunes without start the Apple mobile device service manually. In case your iPhone or iPod still not detected on iTunes, start the Apple Mobile Device service manually.
    2. If uninstalling them, or you have none of those software installed, try this step.

Hi, new here. I found this thread when i was searching for a problem similar to the OP and i can`t find any up to date solution to this issue.
I`m running a PC with windows 7 64-bit and i have the latest version of iTunes installed. Whenever i try to plug in my iPhone or iPad, the PC doesn`t regognize it.

I have tried to uninstall & reinstall both iTunes and also the AMD separately but without any luck. I still get the error code 1067 when i try to start the AMD in services.

I`m kind of surprised there is no updated solution to this problem, at least not when i searched on google.

If anyone have an up to date solution, i would appreciate it very much. Thanks.
