Acronis Snap Deploy Since I'm preparing for a new build of my rig, using different hardware than now, I know that usually requires doing a clean install of the OS (which I'm dreading). I came across this program by Acronis: Universal Deploy - a simple way for you to deploy new systems with different hardware
Which if it really does what it claims, would allow me to create an image of my current installation, and use it on the new build, installing drivers, etc. afterward.
Since I'm not terribly adventurous, I'm wondering if anyone has actually used this program before, and how successful it was, and how easy to use? | My System Specs |

Snap Deploy is similar to Acronis TrueImage although it hasn't been updated for a while to compatibility with Windows 7.
If you still wan to use it, you can use the Recovery Disk Wizard to create a bootable CD which can be used to create .tib images or deploy images (Standalone mode). Its very easy to use. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number CCL Online OEM OS Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit CPU Intel Core 2 2.4GHz Motherboard Foxconn 946GZ7MA Memory 4GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon 4850 Sound Card Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays Prolite E2407HDS Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Microsoft Digital Media Mouse Optical Wheel Mouse Cooling Fan Hard Drives 2 x WDC 500 GB Internet Speed 14Mb/sec Other Info Internet ISP: Plusnet |

I just checked the system requirement on SD 3: Acronis Snap Deploy :: System Requirements
And it says that Windows 7 is compatible, but it is suffixed with SP1, so it probably wouldn't work for me, since I have not applied the SP.
EDIT: Actually, there is an update in the works, because the reason that I became aware of it, is because Acronis sent me an invitation to test SD 4. Unfortunately, the installation failed. Not sure that it would work, but in their forum, it was suggested that the reason for the failure was because of other Acronis products being installed. In my case TI 2010 and DDS 11. I'm not anxious to uninstall these only to test the program, but I may since my current installation isn't going to be of any use much longer. However, it is not clear whether the universal add-on would work with SD4 or not. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number DIY OS W7x64 Pro, SuSe 12.1/** W7 x64 Pro, XP MCE CPU Phenom II 1090T w/Noctua NH-D14 /**4400+ X2 w/CM Hyper TX 3 Motherboard ASRock 890FX Deluxe 4/**A8N-SLI Memory 2 x 2GB Patriot PGS34g1600LLKA/**4x1GB Corsair VS Graphics Card EVGA GTX460 SC/**EVGA 8800GTS Sound Card Asus Xonar D2X/**Xonar D1 Monitor(s) Displays Acer X233H, Dell E152FPc /**LG M237-WD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 & 1024x768/**1980x1080 Keyboard Logitech Media USB/**Saitek Eclipse Mouse Cordless Trackman Wheel/**Ditto PSU CM RS600 w/ APC BX1000G/**Antec 500 TP w/ APC BX1000 Case HAF922/**Antec 1040IIB Cooling 3x200mm, 1x140 and 1x120mm/**5x80mm fans Hard Drives WDC 2TB, 1.5TB, 1TB, 500GB,Seagate 500GB , Maxtor 80GB /**500GB Seagate & WDC 1TB Black Internet Speed 3.3Mbps Other Info SB 560 5.1 w/ Sennheiser RS140/**Creative T20 speakers, Dvico FusionHDTV7 Gold RT, Cisco E3000, HP 5510V AIO, Linksys E3000, Belkin F5U237 hub and **F5D8055 adapter
