Windows 7: Files saved to desktop not showing up

My apologies if this is not in the right forum category.

I have a strange problem ---



While I work on worksheets, I often save the files to the desktop for easy attachment to emails when I have completed my work.

On two occasions now I have been saving the files to the desktop as I usually do but when I go to the desktop the files are not there.

If I look in the desktop folder, they are there.

Any ideas on how to fix this ?

Running 64 bt Windows 7 Professional and scan for Malware yielded no issues.

p.s. When I reboot the files do appear on the desktop ....

Its an old problem, when you save to the desktop and it does not show, then right click on the Desktop and click Refresh and the files should then appear.

Thank you -- that worked. Anyway to "fix" this or must I refresh each time I save a file ?

At the moment, there is no fix for it yet. It is an intermittant problem, so a refresh is the only workaround at present.
Why not search other forums on the web to see if other users have found a fix.

Please download TFC - Temporary File Cleaner by Old Timer, saving it to your desktop.
* Open the file and close any other windows.
* It will close all programs itself when run, make sure to let it run uninterrupted.
* Click the Start button to begin the process. The program should not take long to finish it's job
* Once its finished it should reboot your machine, if not, do this yourself to ensure a complete clean.
