They installations are normally installed along side an application. They install runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries which are required to run applications developed with Visual C++ on a computer that does not have Visual C++ installed already.
There is software on your system requires the C++ libraries to run, it does no harm to leave the installations on your computer, you might have issues with a specific program if you remove them.
Thank you for your help, but do I need all of them? all the versions of 2005 and 2008 as well? or just 2008 will be enough?
You need each version as they are specific to whatever program installed them.
If you delete one then one or more installed programs will not run and you will get an error message like "This program's configuration is not correct. Reinstalling may fix the problem".
You most likely still have software that has C++ dependencies. They are harmless and i recommend keeping all the installations unless you know that you don't need then anymore
Thanks, I appreciate your help.
