Uninstalling Microsoft Visual C++ 2005-2008-2010 doesn't work

So I'm trying to uninstall/reinstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2005-2008-2010 but a window pops up saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." "Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'vcredist' in the box below." I went to my C:\Users\Lar\AppData\Local\Temp\IXP001.TMP\ but it didn't work all it says is "The file 'C:\Users\Lar\AppData\Local\Temp\IXP001.TMP\' is not a valid installation package for the product Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable. Try to find the installation package 'vcredist.msi' in a folder from which you can install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable." Mind you it does this for any version I try to uninstall :confused: So I rebooted and tried again but the Temp folder wasn't there which was to be expected but now I can't find any vcredist.msi on my computer and it does the same thing in safe mode :mad:

If you need to install those MS Visual C++ go directly to the MS Download Center, uninstall all if you unsure then do Windows Update first to see if they do provide some of the versions needed, then try MS...

Reason I said I was trying to unintall/reinstall them because one of my games aka MW2 needs them and it keeps showing the box with the browse thing. I know what the files do but I don't know why this is happening since this has never happened before.

You're welcome...I do not know this error code from Visual c++. Check in "program & features" that all is really uninstall. Then try again. MS Visual c++ are so easy in general to install...

Don't install SP1 first but the original one of all versions, 2005, 2008, 2010...they should come to Windows Update for SP1 pack.

Thanks I played around in the registry and moved some permissions over and now everything installed except VCRedist 2010 which is giving me the same error as before but it seems I can't fix this one :confused: It's ok though I'll come back to it when something really needs VCRedist 2010.
