    QTTabBar and USB drives

Anyone know if there's a setting to keep QTTabBar from dropping USB drives that are removed or powered down? They assume the same drive letter when powered up. Seems like it should be possible to avoid manually creating and locking the tab every time.

I have Restore Locked Tabs set and of course I've locked the Tabs. But when you power down the docking station the game is over.

I've posted a question on SourceForge in the meantime. Just thought I'd ask if anyone here knows an Easter Egg that fixes it. :)

edit: I got it to work. Just had to add all my drives to a Group and set it to load on Startup.

I don't like that QTTabBar doesn't remember the tabs I had open when I close explorer.

You need to set up Groups to get sets you use together. Kind of like FreeCommander Layouts. I'm surprised there isn't an option to start with whatever was there on close though.

edit: Go into Options => Window and check Restore Tabs.

I have restore tabs enabled, it doesn't remember the stored tabs when I open explorer again.

Hmm, it does on my system. In fact I turned it off because every time I opened a folder using something else it was added on. I just keep tabs for all my drives.

Maybe a bug of some sorts.

I just had the same thing. When you are in Groups Tab and set the group to Start Up, make sure the button reacts and also the Apply Button. I just had to do it 2 or 3 times to get it to "stick".

Also sometimes on power up it seems to lose the setting.

When you say 'make sure the button reacts' you mean make sure that the group gets underlined, which it does then I hit apply, I've done this already after reading your reply 4+ times, it doesn't stick, this is annoying. I'll keep trying until I can't no more :)

    What do you mean ?

I mean it was working until I shut down, then turned the computer back on. Anything the modifies Explorer, esp tab bars and buttons, is going to have some kinks. This is the only one I've tried that I actually want to use.

Do you have the shell hacked to use themes? That can also make things flaky.
If it doesn't work for you then I'd give up on it. So far for me it seems pretty stable.. for an Explorer hack.

No Shell Hack. I suppose I have to give up on it, might as well uninstall it cause I see no point in it, if I can't have tabs remembered.

    Thanx.
