Nitro PDF Reader updated

version 2 is now out.

Quote:
  • Microsoft Office Interface – Unlike other PDF Readers, the Nitro PDF Reader uses the same interface as Microsoft Office products, so users know exactly where to find things

  • It’s faster – files open instantly, PDFs are created 4x times faster

  • It’s lighter – using much less RAM in its runtime, even with multiple PDFs open

  • Browser integration – you can open and save PDF in popular browsers like IE 9.0 and Firefox 4.0 without having to switch back and forth between software programs

Browser integration finally added.

If I ever decide to dump Foxit I will give Nitro another chance

Finally it's left beta

I mainly use Chrome these days for the occasional PDF viewing but I've always liked the look of Nitro PDF Reader, Foxit is OK but their new UI is awful.

Thanks Mickey. Left Foxit and switched to Nitro about a year ago. Haven't regretted the switch at all.

Problem installing:

I had to run the Setup program as an Administrator and also Take Ownership of two directories in order to complete the installation. This makes no sense because there is only one User ID on my Windows 7-64 SP1 system and it has Administrator privileges.

The installer also did not delete some Ver. 1 folders that are apparently no longer needed.
