I went to Warwick University a couple of weeks ago and they used some presentation software during a talk.
It was basically like a slideshow, but instead all the slides where next to each other (in all directions) and the program zoomed in and out of each particular part.
Has anyone heard of anything like this because I liked the idea of it?

you could certainly do that sort of thing using adobe flash, and a few other animation programs too.
have you seen the google+ demo, which was done in flash, i believe - was it anything like that?
ye, i know that would be possible but this looked like a dedicated piece of software, much like powerpoint is.
sorry, but without seeing the presentation personally, it's next to impossible to know what software created it. :)
