video to video conference over LAN

Is there any built in software in W7 to allow a video conference over LAN.
I want to use my Netbook to talk to my son over wifi. Both running W7 7600.
If not what free aps can i use.

    Thanks

    Dave.

You both can use Windows live messenger, but this uses WAN, I mean if you have a internet connection, why not use it...

Windows Meeting Space is not on 7, and they removed the audio and video anyway... was supposed to be the netmeeting replacement.

I can keep looking but almost every app (that is free) requires some kind of online presence...

Ill give WLM a try. I was trying to avoid the internet purley to keep the frame rate up. Maybe it wont make a difference.

    Cheers.

No problem... there is skype as well, but I prefer WLM. It has awesome framerate and quality with noise canceling. Hope this helps, good luck.

I give up with WLM. First off my son (5 year old) doesnt have a Windows live account and i cant be bothered to create one for him.
It just seems so long winded.
The LAN option seems to be what i need so ill keep looking.
    Thanks fo rthe help.

No problem. It only takes like 3 min to create one. I will keep an eye out for a LAN one, most of them seem to cost money.
