    Please suggest file undelete software

Is there any really functioning and clever file undelete applications?
I have tried several but results are poor even when using on extended disk immediately after deletion by mistake. (when on disk haven't been any other activities)
Accordingly I'd divide application into two:
    1. Easy, quick immediately after occasional deletion
    2. Deep search of lost files for more serious cases.
    File system NTFS XT-Widows 7.
Best would be an application which doesn't require installation and understands to search most lately deleted files

    Thank you!

You probably know this already, but just as a word to the wise, until you've recovered your files (or determined that you can't recover any more of them) it's VERY IMPORTANT that you don't save anything or create any new files or folders. In fact, the less you do on your computer, the better, because anything created or saved could be created or saved right over the very files you're trying to recover.

Therefore, before you use ANY recovery software: be sure to check out all of the options before you actually use any one of them. Although most recovery software products just scan your system before they actually change it, you don't want to take a chance that ANYTHING is done to your system until you are absolutely sure what course you want to take. That also goes for writing any files to your system or making any changes of any kind. The more you use your computer, the less chance you'll have of recovering your old data.

Here are 3 very popular 'undelete' apps that you should research.

Glary Undelete is an easy to use, yet powerful file undelete solution for FAT and NTFS file systems. It will bring back files emptied from the Recycle Bin, in a DOS window, from Windows Explorer with the SHIFT key held down. It will even recover files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses! (GlaryUtilities Undelete module - Try "other builds" - the bottom link of the three - Glary Utilities)

Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File Recovery - Home - http://www.recuva.com/ Recuva is a utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players.

ShadowExplorer.com - Downloads –Shadow Explorer is an alternative program for "Previous Versions,” for those editions of Vista and Windows 7 that do not offer Previous Versions. (ShadowExplorer.com - Manual is the link to the “how to” instructions explaining how to utilize Shadow Explorer.)

These are less well known, but might be more useful to you:

MiniTool Power Data Recovery Free Edition - can restore lost data even if the partition is formatted or deleted, restore data from corrupted hard drive, virus infection, unexpected system shutdown or software failure. It support IDE, SATA, SCSI, USB hard disk, memory card, USB flash drive, CD/DVD, Blue-Ray Disk, iPod.

MiniTool Damaged Partition Recovery module is a powerful data recovery module of MiniTool Power Data Recovery. This data recovery module focuses on recovering data from damaged or formatted partitions. As long as the partition is existing, you can use this data recovery module to recover data from the partition irrespective of whatever happen to cause the data loss. And this data recovery module not only supports MBR-style partition, but also supports Windows Dynamic disk volume. For example: Simple Volume, Spanned Volume, Stripped Volume and RAID-5 Volume.

MiniTool Lost Partition Recovery If you cannot find the partition you like to recover in this data recovery module, you need to use Lost Partition Recovery module, designed to recover data from lost/deleted partitions. This data recovery module can help to recover your data when your hard drive crashes, MBR is corrupted, a disk is repartitioned (fdisk), and a partition is overwritten when you use data backup software to restore the disk image.

Uneraser uses deep search methods and sophisticated recovery algorithms to give you the best possible chance of recovering your files. It also has powerful tools including thumbnail preview for all files which allows you to quickly identify the files you need to recover. Most other deleted files recovery software has only limited preview capabilities, forcing you to waste time recovering files before you can examine them and see if they are what you want. Uneraser has the widest range of built-in "what-you-see-is-what-you-get" viewers to let you fully examine the files it finds before recovery.

Thanks for a words of wisdom!
Yes I'm aware of results writing to the disk prior to restore efforts and that's what I have been concerned about - instantly (without writing to extended HDD) after ctrl-del many tried out applications couldn't find 50% of deleted files, even when total deleted file count is below 10 files :-(
That's something I can't understand and therefore blame poor applications.
Thanks for your suggestions - I'll check these ASAP
