    Full Administrative Rights?

Since I reinstalled windows 7, windows keeps asking me to give administrative permission for things to happen, wont let me save into files such as program files, doesn't by default run programs as an administrator and so on. This is a pain in the bum but I dont know how to fix it, I am the only user on the computer and Im pretty sure my account counts as an admin, I even checked my account had full access via control panel, but windows keeps doing this. How can I get 100% (or as close to it as possible) access to every part of my computer without my computer holding stuff back from me?

    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hello Tom!

On Windows 7 due to UAC restriction you have to launch the program as administrator i.e. Right click and Run as administrator. Certain folder you have to Take Ownership but don't change the permission for System files like Documents and Settings, Windows, System32 etc. it might even stop the system from booting. So use it wisely create a System Restore point before making changes. To create a Program shortcust with UAC prompt check this article Elevated Program Shortcut without UAC Prompt - Create

    Hope this helps!

Huh, ok. I was just wondering because when I first got the computer I was never asked about those permissions and I could do what I want. Also, will UAC allow me to save into program files? Say I want to save a config file into a game folder stored in program files, at the moment it just wont let me, I have to save it somewhere else then move it (pain in the bum). Thanks for that advice though, ill give that a go.

If you want Full Administrative Rights there are 3 methods:
1.Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Action Center\Change User Account Control settings

    2.Start-Run-services.msc
    Disable "Security Center"

Only do this if you have a powerful security suite.

    3. Start-run-lusrmgr.msc
Users-Administrator-uncheck-Account is disabled, then log off and log on as an Administrator.

I prefer this method when reinstaling windows.

This method worked awsomely....however is there now a way I can move all my user data and settings from "tom" to "Administrator"? (aside from doing things such as copy/paste my user documents and the likes)
