    W7 and MS Money compatibility

Still investigating the problems I may have with a new W7 Home Premium 64 instead of my XP Home, according to the W7 upgrade adviser my MS Money program V14 may not be compatible, This program was installed from the MS Works Suite 2006 which I found somewhere on the MS website was compatible with W7.

Anyone using MS Money 2005 Version 14.0.120.1105 (2004) with W7 Home Premium?

I hope this will run as it is my most important program!!

    Thanks

Seeing as Microsoft has stopped making and supporting Money, there won't be any help from them. Don't know if you have seen it yet but found this that may help get it installed and working,

Running Microsoft Money on Windows 7 [Microsoft (MS) Money FAQ and Help]

    Also found this,

Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - Money Plus Sunset Deluxe

All versions of Money Plus sold at retail and online, required users to perform an “Online Activation” step in order to keep using the product, even if online services had already expired. Online Activation was also required for every machine onto which Money Plus was installed. Now that Money Plus is no longer available for purchase, the online activation step will eventually become unnecessary and unsupported. This Money Plus Sunset package is targeted at removing the activation dependency. There are two versions of Money Plus Sunset. The Money Plus Sunset Deluxe version is meant to replace Premium, Deluxe, and Essentials versions of Money Plus. The Money Plus Sunset Home and Business version is meant to replace Money Plus Home and Business. Please note that Money Plus Sunset versions come preconfigured with:· No online services (no online quotes, no bill payment, no statement downloads initiated by Money, no data sync with MSN Money online services, etc…)· No support services (support services are limited to online self-help only, see Money Plus Sunset EULA and Microsoft’s Support Lifecycle pages for more details)· No need to activate the product
That is supposed to work with Windows 7.

...and I can confirm that the "Sunset" version of MS Money does run fine on my Windows 7 64-bit computer.

I would guess that you'd be able to easily import your Money 2005 data into the newer Sunset version, which, to me, seems to be the same as the Money 2010 version I was running before switching over.

I can't foresee issues, as I have been running office 2003 on my W7 machine with no issues...

I must be missing something... what has running Office 2003 have to do with MS Money compatibility?

It may have come bundled (as a seperate package) but it is not, nor has it ever been part of Office. And I've been using at least one version of Office Pro since 1999/2000. (including Office 97)

At any rate I'd look into the Money Plus version.

    Peace

Thank you for the replies, the link kindly supplied by Stormy13

Running Microsoft Money on Windows 7 [Microsoft (MS) Money FAQ and Help]

Is unavailable, HTTP error 503 but I will try again later.

I am in the UK and so need to use a ££ Money version not a $$ version. As far as I know (Which is not much!) the Money 2005 was the last UK version and I think that the new MS Money versions are all $$ based.

I tried to edit my post above but the new details were not shown

Anyway, I have now been able to view the link suggested and it seems I can use my MS Money with W7, either as it is or with a work around fix which is great news.

It seems that the only MS Money programs now only support $$ and there is no ££ version.

Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated.
