Can't open Apps - "Open With" window always appears

Can't open any programs cuz this annoying window "Open with" pops up asking what application I want to open this file with? If I go browse and select the file (i.e. IE) then another window opens asking if I want to run, save or cancel. When I hit Run.... windows close and nothing happens. Pretty much dead in the water here. Tried recovery to an older config.... no help. It even happens on Safe Mode. Any help?

Hello Seahunt, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It sounds like your associations for these file extensions may have been messed up. Downloading and merging the .lnk (LNK) and .exe options in the tutorial below to restore their default associations and hopefully fix this for you.

Default File Type Associations - Restore

Hope this helps,
Shawn
