I used CCleaner to clean my registry, and successfully redirect installers to vc_red.msi in C:\'s root folder.
It's still saying I need the disc whenever I try to uninstall VC 2005/2008/2010, MS SQL 2008, or Silverlight components. It says the location it's currently looking for the disc is "1" but I don't know what that's supposed to mean.
Try this,
1.Install and Run MicrosoftFixIt50747<<please search for download links
2.Download the latest VC 2005/2008 or MS Silverlight and Extract to it's Folders.
3.Copy-paste the Extracted Folder Files to C./User>user>AppData>Local>Temp
4.Open it and install, if it ask you the location of exe files or disk then you have now in this Temp Folders. And all works 100%.
