    teamviewer issue

Hello. I am currently into my Fathers pc, via latest release teamviewer. I am trying to type his email password, in order to "re" download skype (as he can not remember his p/w. Nevertheless, when I type the "@" symbol, it comes up as " and the "#" comes up as some other symbol, that is not even on the keyboard. All other symbols work normally, when I command them to my Dads pc.
I've tried (I think) every possibility, including looking at his keyboard configuration, (mine is normal) and it is set properly. Uh, wut gives? This is driving me crazy....

Any language packs on either? Are both the same language and local setup? Both win 7?

Sounds like a keyboard driver issue but cant you just snip his address off of one of his emails and paste it into the field?

One other way is the use the windows Character Map application or the on screen keyboard to enter the info :)

The swapping of certain characters is a sign of differing keyboard layouts, and having " and @ (Shift 2) swap over is indicative of the layouts being EN-UK and EN-US respectively.

    got it

I called Teamviewer and actually talked with someone. I was using, what they called a "software control" to access my fathers account. This is a way that is generally used for people that are mobile, and is a smaller version of the bigger app. I was advised to download and install the full version, which controls are somehow different. I did and all was fine. She explained the software app I was using, somehow crossed some of the keys, from other languages. I may not be telling you correct on this, but, by installing the full version, corrected the issue.
A real stand up place, for answering the phone when I needed them.
    Solved.....
