"using pcie gen 2" on startup

dunno if this is the correct spot to ask, but ask away i shall.
On startup, with the black sceens and bios info and the such,
I always get the message "using pcie gen 2", then directly
below this it says, "cant find any device".
2 me, this means I have in the slot. I do have something installed
in the pci express 2 slot....uh, is "gen 2" a different slot".
Please educate me.
This is a clean install of windows 7 on a newly built tower.
Thank you...DM

ok, so with 140 views, I'll guess it's solved. Still don't get while at bootup, this message is displayed, for this slot.
Why don't it give me messages for all empty slots.....
