    Free OCR Handwriting Software

    Hi,

Is there any Free OCR software that will turn handwriting (on paper) into text?

I've never seen Free OCR software offered for download. I have Iris but it came with my HP printer. As an alternative to separate OCR scanning software, have a look at this: Digital Note Taker (Product Overview) - YouTube

There's a few variations of this type but this one is compact. These are called Digital Note Takers.

I'm not interested in buying any hardware, I strictly want a software only OCR software. So, is there none available out there at all? Nothing open source?

Already been on that link before lol. I currently use FreeOCR, which does a fine job with printed text, but it completely fails handwriting...

Simple OCR has a handwriting mode but not sure what it's like in practice, depends on the actual handwriting I guess

Simple OCR is trialware, for the handwriting part at least.
