lmfao - They've been doing that since Quicken '95....

I learned well over a decade ago not to friggin call them...

One thing - I'll need a trial version of Quicken....I suppose I should visit their site....

Thought I would update- I installed the newest Quicken 2009- same issues and same printers with same operating systems. This is an issue with Windows 7- 64 bit, HP, and Quicken. I would love to hear from anyone who can succesfully print checks using Quicken and a HP printer while running the 64-bit edition of Windows 7. There must be someone reading this that has had some experince with this setup.

JohnGalt- I appreciate your offer. Unfortunately there is no trial edition for Quicken. I do have a possible alternative- please PM me.

    I have problems starting Quicken

Did you have to do anything to get Quicken to work in the first place? I have Quicken 2003 and while it installs fine, when I tell it I want to open a file on my computer it stalls and then shuts down. Quicken 2009 did the exact same thing.
I am having the same problem both with Quicken 2008 and Quicken 2010 on my Windows 7 64-bit (released version - installed on Oct. 22).

Has anyone else encountered this problem and does anyone have a solution? Quicken Tech Support has not been helpful so far.

I've ordered a new computer as an upgrade to the one I have...i should have it within a couple of weeks. I've been using the 32 bit version of windows for the last four years and will be going to the 64 bit version of windows 7 with the new computer. My only concern is using/installing Quicken to be honest. I use Quicken Premire 2008 currently and have had no issues on the Vista version. I've beeen using Quicken since 2003 so this will be the first time I will be using the program on a 64 bit OS. Do you use the online banking feature in Quicken with your institutions to automatically download data? Have you encountered any issues with that?

    Britmannj,

If your question is addressed to me, let me point out that I have not been able to do anything with Quicken on Windows 7 64-bit. Since I am not able to open and read a Quicken data file (which contains all my information), I've been stuck.

I have been using Quicken (for several years now) with online banking. My PC is dual-boot (Windows 7 64-bit and XP 32-bit). Currently I have to boot into XP in order to do anything with Quicken.

Windows 7, Quicken 2007 and printing

Have 64-bit. Just installed Windows 7. Previously had Vista. Now can't print report in Quicken - had no problem printing in Quicken with Vista. Thought 7 was supposed to be better. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Printing with Quicken

I am using windows 7 Pro x64 and can print to both my HP officejet printers (7310xi and J6480) and to my laserjet with no problem. I use the inkjets for reports and the laserjet for checks.

HP recently listed updated drivers for Win 7x64 on their support forum and a workaround for some printers using alternate drivers.

I normally do not print while in Quicken, just use it on line, but I brought it up and told it to print my last months transactions.

It printer fine to an HP 2600n.

After struggling to get Quicken to work at all with Windows 7 64-bit (see above), I finally solved the problem. It prints checks on my HP LaserJet 4P with no problems.

I would suggest that anyone having printing problems should first verify that they can print correctly with other software (such as Open Office, for example).

My problem with getting Quicken to display the Open File dialog without first crashing was solved per the suggestion of someone on a Microsoft forum - I reinstalled Quicken, running the Setup As Administrator and emulating Windows Vista. Note that my account on Windows 7 had administrative privileges, so I don't what tell telling it to "Run as Administrator" accomplished. I assume that the Vista emulation was what made the difference (I had reinstalled a few times before).

This was my first encounter with Quicken Tech Support after many years of using Quicken. They were not very helpful, sending me down a lot of blind alleys.

I also have Quicken 2007 and just upgraded my Vista 32 bit system to a Windows 7 64 bit system. Quicken does not print for me either. I have an HP photosmart C4385. I have come up with a workaround. I send my Quicken invoices and labels to a PDF maker ( I use the free PDF995) and then I print the PDF. It's an extra step but it works. HP has a workaround by installing a driver for another type of printer but that didn't work for me.
