    Restore Windows Live ID

The Windows Live ID forums proved to be fairly useless, so I'm hoping I can find an answer here.

I deleted my Windows Live ID (which was a Gmail account) and then decided I'd like to use it again. However, I cannot find anywhere I can restore the account. Is this possible? I've tried to simply recreate it, but I get a message that tells me the Windows Live ID I'm trying to create already exists.

You deleted the live ID or your gmail? As long as you remember your username/pw... you should be able to get back into live id????

It would appear you cannot restore a deleted Windows Live ID account nor the data associated with it.

You have to sign up with a new ID if you want to use the service.

Restore recently deleted Windows Live ID

However, if you call Microsoft and explain your predicament AND can prove your credentials they may be able to help you re-instate your Live ID account.

Sorry, I deleted my Windows Live ID. Whenever I try to sign in, it tells me that it doesn't exist. I guess I'm hooped! Thanks for the reply :)

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! I couldn't find that for the life of me. I guess I'm out of luck when it comes to using the e-mail address I want. Thank you.

    You're very welcome.

I've just edited the comment as it appears Microsoft may be able to help if you call them direct.

Wonderful! Do you know if they will still be able to help me even though I'm not using an @windowslive or @hotmail e-mail address?

I don't unfortunately. All I can suggest is that you call them and see whether they can help - you've nothing to lose by trying.
