    Windows Photo Viewer (Printing)

    Hi Guys

I have a picture that I regulary print form windows. I normally do runs of 100 copies of this at a time. The file has always opened in Windows Photo Viewer as standard, and I just print it.

In Windows 7 it again opens in Windows Photo Viewer, and it prints it fine. The problem being that if you ask it to print more than once it seems to send the data to the printer for each and every page. So when i just printed 100 copys of this image it sent it to the printer it took flipping ages.

I know I could easily use different software to resolve this issue, but just thought I would point out this seemingly simple flaw in the software.

    Welcome to the SevenForums Mafro!

Someone might be able to help with some added info:

    Printer model?
    Driver version?
    Driver Source?
    Windows 7 version?

The printer is a HP Colour Laserjet 5550dn
The driver is the HP Colour Laserjet 5550 PCL 5c driver

The printer is a network printer, working from a specific print server. Driver was installed automatically from the print server on first connection

    I am running Windows 7 Version 6.1 Build 7100

    Thanks for your reply Muad

No way I can replicate your configuration.

    Couple of things.

    Check the printer advance settings:

Make sure it is spooled and "Advanced Features" is checked.

You are running RC 7100. While it was perhaps one of the best RCs MS ever released it still had some hardware driver issues.

Because of that the driver being installed "automagically" may not be the latest.

They have a driver dated July, 2009. (there are an AMD driver, a Universal Printer Driver, etc with variations...)

HP Color LaserJet 5500 Printer series*-* Download drivers and software - HP Business Support Center

You could try removing the printer and re-installing with the latest HP supplied drivers.

That may not fix the problem though if it is a bug in the RC 7100 release...

    Hope this helps somewhat...
