How to uninstall a "phantom" program

I want to uninstall DivX Plus media player but it doesn't show up on the Windows Programs list nor does it appear in the programs list of Revo Uninstaller. It has been installed in the Program Data>DivX folder. Can I just delete DivX file?

Does it show up in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features? It should have its files in either C:\Program files and/or C:\Program files (X86). deleting those folders won't do an uninstall but will disable it completely. There will be remaining registry entries which could be cleaned up with CCleaner, link under my sig.

Thanks for the reply, Britton30...No, it doesn't show up anywhere but in the All Programs list.

You might want to look in the "C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData" folders as well. Especially Roaming if you use that type of profile. And / or "C:\ProgramData". The program might have written to those folders. I think it wouldn't hurt anything to leave any files there, as large as hard disks are these days, but if you wish to do a complete check ...

    Yes. Delete the entire folder.

You should use Revo Uninstaller's Target Mode, where you select the folder with containing DivX. It will then look for an uninstaller, and if not found, it will scan for all files and registry entries related to the folder or Target (DivX).

Thanks, SlasherIT...tried Hunter Mode but it said there was no uninstaller and said to return to main window (?). I figure if Revo can't uninstall it I'll just delete the DivX folder!

It said to return to main window and did not offer to scan for files and registry entries? Strange... Maybe its a Revo Uninstaller Pro exclusive feature. Because I use the pro version.
