    Free Download Manager as default..how?

When I'm downloading, I keep getting that annoying Windows downloader showing as well as FDM
how can I make FDM the default, and stop the other one one from popping up as well
    - at the moment, I keep having to "Hide" it..??

What other download manager is showing in "tools" ---> "Manage Add-ons"?

Are you talking about Windows Updates Downloader (WUD) ?

What is the "other one" that you have to hide?

Isn't there a setting in FDM that says Enable Browser Integration?

Might be under Options or Settings, or Preferences.

    - searched the FDM interface, high and low - can't find anything there..

    - can it be selected as the default download manager, via add-ins or preferences, etc. in the W7(v7100)OS Control Panel..?

    - I can't see that option anywhere, either..

If you are on FF, the extension "Flashgot" lets you choose your default download manager.

That is not the normal variety. Look carefully at it - it is the one from the FDM - I was using FDM for over 2 years until last night.

See at the bottom where it says Lunch download when it is complete with a check box (unchecked) and underneath it where it says Close this dialog when download is completed or stopped with a check box (checked)? Those are not like that in the normal Windows download box on IE, nor Fx, nor any other browser.

You need to go back into your FDM settings and disable showing the download box (I just switched last night to DAP for a while - FDM had closing issues ion this fresh install of W7 so I am trying something different - my old friend DAP - for a while again, so I cannot tell you exactly where to look).
