No I haven't. I am kind of embarassed to say, but I have never sent a text message. I might get the courage up tonight to try that. I consider myself a pretty knowledgeable guy about electronics, but man cell phones just kind of freak me for some reason. I know almost nothing about them. I just dial and talk and that is about it. I wouldn't even have one if my girlfriend had not insisted and paid for it. == Thanks Mark, I will try that tonight.
If she was paying for it, why didn't you go with a cool phone, like a Droid or iPhone?

When we were at the Verizon store over the weekend, I mentioned that several times. I am not sure if she is hard of hearing or was ignoring me.

When all else fails, read the manual that came with your phone.

Yea, Believe it or not I have tried that. Nothing about it so I came to a better source here.

I suspect that if it's not covered in the manual then ringtones aren't available on your phone. Even my old Sprint-Sanyo had ringtones but you had to download them from $print.

There-in lies the rub--You can't. I couldn't on my old Sanyo either. As I recall, there was no provision to do so and they were a special format too. I had to buy the ringtones from Sprint or use the choices in the phone. My new phone allows storing my own up to the allocated memory. I've loaded the family numbers with individual song clips that match their life, personality or favorite song. Gets a few grins when some go off in the store.

I appreciate all of your efforts. To wrap up my story, I connected the phone to USB and did see it in the Printers and Devices window. It said that there were no drivers so I seached the net for some, but none were found. I then decided to do one last thing, it possibly should have been the first. I called Verizon and they confirmed I could not load custom ringtones. Thanks to everyone.
