    iTunes 10, Quicktime won't install

    Hello, I'm running a Dell with Windows 7 Pro 64. I can't install iTunes 10 or Quicktime.
    I get the error message:

"This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."

I tried it in Firefox and IE.

If anyone could give me any suggestions I'd be very grateful.

    Best,

    Amy

Hello Amy. Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

You may need to update the Windows Installer, which you need to install any software on your computer.

Check this link for an updated version: Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - Windows Installer 3.1 Redistributable

Save it to your hard drive in case you need it in the future, and then install it and retry installing iTunes.

Thank you very much. When I tried to run WindowsInstaller-KB893803-v2-x86.exe
I got a message that "Not enough storage is available to process this command."

I have a new Dell Vostro dual core wtih 185 GB of free storage space. Any idea what is wrong?

Thank you again for your trouble. Or is this a problem I need to take up with Dell?

It certainly won't hurt to contact Dell while it is under warranty.

In the meantime can you go into Control Panel and upload an expanded screenshot of your Disk Management layout so we can see what is going on?

why don't you first open iTunes and then go to update it. The latest version is 10.5.

Hi. Thanks. I'm not sure where to get the disk management shot.
Here's this below. Also I saw that I'm on a 32-bit OS ....sorry.

If your system it 32 bit, you need 32 bit iTunes, and if the system is 64 bit, iTunes must be 64 bit ... first make it sure .
