Windows XP - Genuine download (Already have legal CD key)

Hi, I am trying to find a legit Windows XP download for my computer. I have lost my CD, I still have my CD case with CD key inside. (check pictures*of course with key CD removed*)

I am looking for legit downloads, not torrents.

    *reason*

I wish to install Windows 7 Professional on my laptop whilst still keeping everything nice and legal. I can buy a student copy of Windows 7 Professional for £40, they don't offer full versions. To do this properly I need an ISO of Windows XP Home Edition. *Laptop has no OS*

I really do own a legit key for XP Home Edition. (My parents bought it about 8 years back for there computer.)
Sorry if this breaks any rules but I really do want a copy.

    Thanks.

By my understanding of the law in the Uk it is not illegal to download a copy of something you already own.

I stupidly gave my full license version of xp to an ex female friend.. i still have the license key and validation sticker. so i had a similar issue.

It's my understanding you don't really need an ISO of Windows XP, since you already have the legal key. You should be able to use the Windows 7 student copy for a full install, even if it's just an upgrade disc.

(Someone correct me if I'm wrong here...)

You're correct by legal terms but to install it and to have a successful activation you need a copy of Vista or XP on your machine. Ether to overwrite or install along side it.

I would agree with you but... many torrents have been tampered with, thus this may ruin the activation process.
