What is the best PC remote software for non business use?

I'm trying to find a remote solution to use while I am at work to connect to my windows machine at home. I have a fast connection at home(60d/5u) and I want something that can take advantage of that speed, little to notice lag(so if Im running programs or games), sound, and any other perks.

I've looked into Gotomypc, PCanywhere, Radmein, and even considered logmeinPro. I considered VNC but it does not allow streaming or sound. Either way, price is not a option. I'm just trying to find the best, not cheap or small, solution.

    Any ideas?

    I have not.

Is this considered something of what I was describing? Have you used it for any of the things I mentioned? Its kinda of pricy without anyway to test the premium version.

I have never used it but know people that have. As I understand it, it is free for personal non commercial use which is what I understand you want to do.

I assume you are working in an office with a LAN and internet connectivity. As far as your home computer is concerned, there are no problems. But to connect to it from your office, your office firewall may come in the way. You have to talk to your system admin to allow you to connect to your home PC.

Many remote connecting solutions exist in the market, but it seems you want it to use primarily for gaming purpose. Gaming needs audio and video streaming at high bandwidth and this could be your bottleneck. Your home computer has an upload limit of 5 (mbps!) and this is the limiting factor. Your home computer's download bandwidth is of no use to you at your office.

No I do not want to use it for primary gaming. Although, if I want to play a simple game that is not demanding, I might. I'm just trying to get the best software that I can get. Also, I work in IT at my place of work and I already have access through our firewall. Also a upload of 5mb is pretty good btw. My boss only has 1mb and anything he does is fine on his remote connection. (can we focus on my post and not reach with assumptions please? Haha no offense)

I'm leaning towards teamviewer. No real reason, but I guess I might try to give the free version a run before I buy the premium.

Did you try the windows remote desktop connection which is already included with windows 7?

The latest version 7.0 incorporates new functionality such as Windows Media Player redirection, bidirectional audio, true multimonitor support, Aero glass support, enhanced bitmap acceleration (which improves user experience over high latency network connections), Easy Print redirection, Language Bar docking etc....

Essenbe is spot on: If you are using it to connect to your home from work, then it is personal use and free, and the best choice by far is TeamViewer
