    Uninstall PC-Doctor ? Not in Add/Remove

    PC-Doctor is not in Add/Remove.

I wish to kill EVERY trace of it.

Sometimes, it will automatically fire itself up, saying it will run something in 10 minutes. I don't want it to carry out anything. So I just want it to be gone

Do you happen to have a restore point to a date prior to the installation of PC Doctor? That would probably be my first choice.

Look in the PC Doctor folder on your hard drive. Do you see anything in there that might be an uninstaller?

If you attempt to re-install it, there may be a choice within that re-installation dialogue that will allow you to uninstall it.

There are special programs devoted to uninstalling a program, such as Revo Uninstaller. They work quite well, but I'm not sure they would help for a program that does not appear in add/remove.

You might consider installing Revo and then re-installing PC Doctor, in hopes that Revo will then be aware of PC Doctor, when it might not be aware of it if you installed Revo AFTER PC Doctor.

Your other alternative is to search through the registry with regedit and delete any and all references to the program. This is a bit dangerous and tedious, but I'd probably do it if I was frustrated enough with PC Doctor. If you try this, be sure to back up the registry first.

Another alternative, last resort, is to simply delete the PC Doctor folder. If you have some nerve, you might then run a registry cleaner like CCleaner and have it remove any references to PC Doctor. This is also a bit dicey and to be attempted only if your frustration is running high.

ignatzatsonic, thanks much for giving me clear options.

I forgot to check its folder, just thought it was something forced into here.

It's bloatware; preinstalled, so now I've uninstalled using it

I've had CCleaner, all I could manage is to kill off restore points to save space..it's a bit complex for me though many would argue it should not..

I go to the Registry section, and there's a bunch of checkboxes to filter what to scan for. I can't open a search box to search for certain keys that may be of no use at all, in this case PC-Doctor

You "uninstalled using it"??? I don't follow that.

I'm not sure what you did. If you simply deleted the PC Doctor folder, I would probably install CCleaner and go to the registry cleaner function on the left side.

Leave all of those boxes on the left checked EXCEPT unused file extensions.

Do an "scan for issues" from the registry cleaner. Inspect each instance it finds. If a finding obviously relates to PC Doctor (by name), then check it and authorize its deletion. You will be given a chance to back up the registry. Say yes to that. Run the registry cleaner several times. It may find a bit more each time. Don't delete anything that isn't obviously related to PC Doctor.

That is better than dealing with regedit directly.

Or did you "uninstall" PC Doctor by some other means than simply deleting its folder?

I used PC-Doctor's uninstaller, not Revo

I searched the primary drive for PCDRCUI.EXE (PC-Doctor)

    There is a PCDRCUI.EXE-B34B7FE9.pf in C:\Windows\Prefetch. May I kill it ?

I'd certainly guess so. It's a guess. I can't imagine how it could any longer be pertinent. Prefetch is designed to help programs load more quickly, but since that program is no longer around, why would you need the pre-fetch file?

That's the type of thing that I think CCleaner would pick up as no longer needed.

A program to keep handy on a USB is Combo-fix, make sure you read up about it before you use it though as it very powerful and you wouldnt wanna fix things that are not broken, saying that its still deffinatly worth having on your side.
