Uninstalled program still listed in Installed Programs

    Hi,

I recently installed and uninstalled a program. However, the entry for the program still remains in the Installed Programs list in the Control Panel. I have examined the Registry keys under uninstall and I cannot find this program listed there to be manually deleted. How do I remove this entry? Any advice is appreciated.

have you done a reboot since you uninstalled the program?
Only time ive had this happen, there has been remainders of the program in program files. Deleting them solved the issue for me.

out of interest what is the program? ill do some searching to see if this is a common issue.

Have you tried uninstalling it again through the Control Panel? It can sometimes remove invalid entries itself.

I have removed all of the remainders of the program and rebooted. Now I have two ghost entries for the same thing. Strangely they are both listed as being nearly 4 TB, which is significantly larger than my hard drive.

The program is Quartus II v11 sp1 free web edition.

Yeah, I have right clicked and chosen "uninstall" a few times hoping it would go away. I just get an error message saying that the program wasn't found at <location>.

I found this jem, it's microsoft's installer cleanup utility. they used to have it on their site for removing botched office installs.

you have to be really careful with it, it can remove anything on your computer. even windows stuff. which is why they don't don't put it on their tech site anymore I guess.

you have to be carefull with that crap stuff though. it can remove stuff in your registery you actually need.
since you don't have any control of what it picks out. I wouldn't recommend that kind of product.
besides, it doesn't say anything about removing programs from the control panel add/remove programs lists.

The download links are all dead and I can't find this by Googling. Do you know of another source/site?
