Help with picking a download manager.

    Hey guys,
I am looking for a good download manager/accelerator?
First I would like to ask do you recommend a download manager in the first place. Please provide reasons
Second if you recommend a download manager what is the one you recommend?
    IDM
    DAP
    Etc.
Please note that ideally I want a download manager that:
Has a clean install/uninstall (does not ruin system on install, and does not leaf leftovers on uninstall)
Can be turned on/off on the fly i.e without restart, I only use it for specific downloads
    Compatible with media fire
    Does not destroy IE

Please note that I have had previous experience with IDM and I love it but I am reluctant to install it on the new system because of point 1,2,3, but if it is the best then I have no choice then do I ;P

    My specs:
    Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Running the one and only IE9
    Thanks in advance

IDM is free from points of hazards you have pointed out , cause ....

    1. uninstall it with revo uninstaller ...there will be no leftovers .
    2. Right cilck on the notification area icon and exit ... it is stopped .
    3. When you are on you tube or any other video page, it automatically adds a download button there .

IDM is the best, IMO .

Have you tried Revo uninstaller. I use this for all my uninstall tasks, it does a thorough job of cleaning up any leftovers but use the aggressive mode with caution and double check any entries it finds - Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems
