    best driver updater besides windows update if that dont work?


    just curious if my system is still up to date which im really sure... even tho i did a clean install of windows 7 professional 64bit. im pretty good at getting drivers but also looking to see if theres something missing :) whats the best driver update thats legit? driver genious? let me know your opinons on this plz. thanks.

    Always best to date drivers from the OEM manufacturer's website.

    Driver Updates


    I have never come across one that I liked. I agree with the previous post. Best to get them from the mfg.

    I have used them just to see what they found and then I uninstalled them and hunted the drivers on my own.

    most driver update programs are comfort-ware and best and snake oil at worst. Windows Update for drivers should only be used as a last resort if you can't find the necessary one(s) from the hardware/device manufacturer.

    As far as updating drivers goes, ideally the only drivers that should need to be updated not counting external peripherals (mouse, keyboard, printer, etc), are video and sound. System drivers should be left alone unless an update has a fix in it for a problem you may be experiencing.
