    No, CCleaner is fine, I use it. It is you general body of posts concerning 3rd party optimizing and such.

    I am not a believer of number of download from software downloading websites otherwise C**P(should not use this word as many people works hard to provide security stuff) like A*G should not be on top of download list of c##t.com from last 5-6 years (as far i remember it maybe more)

    Plenty, but no more or less than other products they've given "less than stellar" reviews to.

    Is MSE still your recommendation of choice? I'm about the build a PC for my in-laws and between my bro-in-law and father-in-law, it needs strong protection.
