[SOLVED]Need info..Good file searching s/w

Dear All,

Can you plz suggest me a good software which will act as a replacement for the Windows 7 Search utility? I should be able to search any files on my computer with that.

Thanks in advance,

Try this: Locate32 Web Site - Home. Its a port of a linux app. You have to run "updatedb" first in order to build up the database.

You could always download Windows Desktop Search and see if that has better capabilities than the default Se7en search applet.

I downloaded Windows 4.0 search (64 bit) but the install indicates it is not supported on Windows 7. Am I missing something?

AFAIK Windows Desktop search 4.0 IS the Windows 7 search, the downloadable version is for adding to Vista or XP to bring them up to date.

The Desktop search 4.0 installer will not install as it is already there
