Software for resuming download after connection dropout?

I have heard about software which will allow the user to resume a download should the connection happen to dropout halfway during a large download and therefore not wasting any valuable MB's on a prepaid account.

I know there are many flavours out there so can I have some suggestions as to what you (whoever may view this thread) use or would recommend for this purpose.

    Thanks in advance

Use to use FlashGet (freeware) in the past but don't really need one now so don't know what else is out there.

Me too. It works well but you will only be able to resume a download if the site allows it.

I can also recommend Free Download Manager but be careful certain music sites (paysites - if you use them!) don't like these sorts of programmes as mentioned. Most sites do behave properly thankfully.
