This worked beautifully for me!

Once there, double click "Inbound Rules" on the left, and double click "Bonjour" (I have two rules for Bonjour, not sure if this is normal)

In the General tab, make sure that "Allow the connections" is checked. The problem I was having was in the "Advanced" tab. For "Profiles" make sure that "All Profiles" is used. Mine was on just Public profiles, which made it so that when I was connected to my home network (a private network), it would not work. There are other settings in these exceptions that might do the trick if this didn't work.

Help this helped.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

More info, but no solution

I have an HP desktop running Win 7 x64 and have not been able to get Remote working with my machine. I have tried all suggestions, disabled all firewalls, virus scanners, all to no avail.

But I did find something interesting.

My desktop also has WiFi, which I have had disabled because I am wired in to my router. I enabled my WiFi and *ding* up pops my Remote activation, Documents To Go sees my iphone, all is right with the world.

Is it possible that Remote prefers WiFi or grabs the first network it sees, whether it is enbaled or not? Maybe changing a binding would help, but I don't know enough to mess with that and it "works on my box" now.

Hope this info helps.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

found this solution in the apple discussion pages

Apple - Support - Discussions - iTunes no longer allowing use of remote ...

"Same problem. I'm running itunes 10.1.2.17 under win 7.

Here's what I did to fix the problem. Basically you need to create a new exception in your firewall to allow itunes UDP communication.

control panel>system & security>Windows firewall.
Advanced settings>inbound rules
New Rule> Program > browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and pick itunes.exe
Allow the connection>next>next
Give it a name like iTunesUDP.
Now click on your new rule "iTunesUDP" and select properties.
Click the protocals and ports tab.
under protocal type select UDP.

That should do it.

Let me know if it worked for you. "

I created two of these, one for UDP and one for TCP. Some users reported that both are needed to make it work.
