Cmd getting gcc out of an unknown path

Hello

I have mingw32 with gcc 4.6 installed, but when i try to run it trough the console, the console picks up another gcc which is not the one i want (its a gcc 2.9 executable). The problem is that i dont know where to find this gcc.exe the cmd is going for. This is really anoying since when i want to build something using a makefile, the make file tries to reach for gcc and the gcc it gets cant even find the include paths, and is very old.

Before you ask, yes, im sure the version i installed is the version 4.6, and im sure my PATH variable is correct.

Is there any command i can use to find the path of the file the cmd is using?

thank you in advance.

Well, you can just check all the path variable locations and search for gcc.exe, it's easy, simple and fast
