Pidgin IM Client

Everytime I Close the program the buddy list seems to get hung up. Really I have no idea why, I suppose my best bet would be to just use AIM for it but I like the conveinience of Pidgin. Does anyone else use pidgin and get this problem?

Not using Pidgin but Digsby works great, have not had a single issue opening closing, leaving open while hibernating etc.

which IRC client do you use?
Ive been using mirc for many years and have recently been trying other clients out. So far Ive not really found one that I like and is as functional as mirc. So which client do you use? Would be nice to have a 64-bit version but the only ones Ive found so far arent really up to scratch.
