**SOLVED - Firefox won't stay logged in.

    **SOLVED

Since I've been using Windows 7 x64 I have noticed that Firefox (3.5.2) won't keep my logged in to any of the sites where I typically check off the boxes to keep me logged in (ie this forum!).

Any know why this may be occuring.

    I am running AVG 8.5.

Side note, I'd like to be running NOD32 but I get an error when I try to run the installer package stating "This installation package could not be opened, contact the vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package."

Sounds like you are not accepting cookies. Have you checked your cookie settings?

Ok just discovered something interesting. I went into Firefox options, and the cookies were switched OFF and the setting was not to remember anything. I know I didn't set it up like this. I altered the settings back, hit ok, reopen Firefox/options, and it reverts back to "don't remember anything." What gives??

Any other options I alter, such as downloading settings, my selections do take and stay but in this case with privacy/cookies, it keeps reverting.

Might be AVG preventing you from doing that

I think I may have solved it, looks like in the new firefox they re-arranged a few items on the privacy tab. There is a new tick box at the top that states "start firefox in a private session". Even though you can alter your cookie settings beneath that, if that box is ticked off, it causes the reversion. After I un-checked it, my settings now seem to remain.

    Try through about:config. Set network.cookie.cookieBehavior to 0'

edit: nm Glad you solved it!

I added 'SOLVED' to my subject line, but it doesn't show up when you view the thread list under 'software', only at the top here when within the thread.
