Malware bytes freeware ~ unable to escape trial + just run freeware

Recently i have had to service a friends computer, i have attempted to add MalwareBytes (one of your forums recommended in stickied thread freeware progs) to help keep it clean, however i have been unable to register a free version, and there no option to just run the free version, it says trial at the top in brackets ~ its things like this that make freeware a bit of a chore.

When downloading it there is a popup that asks you if you want the trial version or free version. When these types of windows pop up, one must be very careful as what to tick an leave un-ticked. Read them very carefully and throughly.

Now for your question; I would un-install it and re-install it and just go through the process again only slower this time.

Those types of things get by even the best of us at some time or another.

I believe the Popup Trial question is displayed during the install, not when downloading.

Yep...your are correct...but...if you choose the trial version you'll get that popup until the trial version expires. Which is why I suggested to re-install.

    Ahh, got it.

I didn't know about the repeating popup's for the Trial version.
I never used the Trial, I always decline and register a license on my PCs.
I appreciate the info, to know what to expect if i recommend/install the Trial on someone Else's PC.
I do agree with your re-install suggestion...
    Thanks!

I have use all three of them. The free one, Trial one and now I'm using the paid for Pro version. They all work great and if you desire they all remove very easy.

I'd say just buy the software. They work hard on it and its no need to leak it.

It's a pop-up when you first download. Reinstall the program.

Honestly, the free version works as well.

Just use the trail ver.. update it and delete viruses if you found something.... MalwareBytes makes the pc very slow .. so i just use to scan and delete the viruses and keep Microsoft security Essential :)
