    Skype hogging bandwidth during calls

Recently (or so I've noticed), Skype has been using up nearly all my bandwidth during calls. When I'm in a call, web pages take forever to load and a quick email sync takes 3 minutes instead of 3 seconds. The quality of the Skype call itself isn't too good, either.

Here are some Speedtest.net results from during and after a call:

    Before and after:
    Ping: 43ms
    Down: 12.90Mbps
    Up: 1.08Mbps

    During the call:
    Ping: 278ms
    Down: 0.58Mbps
    Up: 0.05Mbps

Why is Skype using up so much bandwidth during calls? Anyone got any idea?

Probably not Skype itself. What version are you running? Often a driver will become corrupt requiring frequent data re-sends causing the bottleneck.

Latency is often caused by a driver, run this (free) to check. DPC Latency Checker

If you have the current version I might try a Skype re-install
