.exe program fails to run. Fixes attempted below.

I have an .exe program that has become corrupted / broken.
How the heck do I repair it. ?

    So far, I have tried...

System Restore to an earlier date

    Malwarebytes scan (full, clean)

    Registry Repair (Regsofts)

an EXE Repair file (I can attach that file if require)

    Check Disc and Repair

    uninstalled and reinstalled the program

And an install via running the installer and hitting repair ......and nothing has worked !

It happened after I had two power failures.
The first allowed me to run the program via the "compatibility wizard" (but not save in this mode to run again)

The second power failure was when I was trying to sort out my uninteruptable power supply....and I got hit again !
Now the .exe program wont work at all (normally or via the "compatability wizard")

    Also note....

I have removed the program by USB and installed it on a NetBook (Win 7) and an old laptop (XP)....and the program executed perfectly on both of those machines.

    Can anyone help ?

Seems like leftover items from your program are causing problems for you.

Download revo uninstaller trial version from this site Revo Uninstaller Pro - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs easily, Forced Uninstall

Uninstall your program with revo.It will remove all files and registry items associated with the your program.Reboot and then re install your program.

    Well my friend....

    You are spot on.

It was that. And I did use that software.

Only 10 mins ago, another guy "Mike Hawthorne" told me the very same thing as you have....and it worked spot on.

And your explanation of what remained was spot on also.

So I thank you also, very, very very much.

I have torn my hair out over this.

    Keep up the FANTASTIC work.
