Halite x86/x64 - Free Torrent Client

Halite is a really nice open-source torrent client with full support for Windows 7. It comes in both x86 and x64 and is really light-weight but powerful and full-featured. It's very much like uTorrent.

Halite is a BitTorrent client based on the libtorrent library from Rasterbar.com. The program is written in C++ relying on the Boost libraries and WTL. It is open sourced under the MIT and/or Boost software licence.

Been using this for a while now. I like it and does what uTorrent does, except faster.

I looked for x64 compatible clients, but ended up going back to Vuze, as I can't seem to achieve the same speeds with any other program.

Tried Vuze. Not really a fan. I also told the install NOT to install that stupid Ask toolbar and low and behold, in my running processes after install, two Ask services were running and taking up memory.

Also, to the OP, I noticed you mentioned the program you started this thread about is a lot like uTorrent. Why not just use uTorrent? I've been using it forever and it works great on Windows 7. Never had an issue.

I asked it not to too, and it didn't, so not sure why it did for you.
