Snip not working

Since I put in a SSD the snip tool will not save what I snip. It works when run from the old HDD's but not the new drive.

Anyone with similar problem or know what is wrong please?

Hello John,

That's an odd issue. Do you mean that when you get to step 6 in the tutorial below and click on File and Save As, it doesn't let you save the snip anywhere?

Hello Shawn No I didn't even get to step 4 where one clicks on Save as - now I just had a look at your tut in the ref you sent and I had a thought that maybe the snip was a left over somehow on the taskbar from when the HDD's were hooked up.

So I typed in snipping tool as per tut and from the right click unpinned it from the taskbar > shut search > reopened it typed snipping tool > pin to taskbar and it is back.

Thanks again for the heads up I honestly can't thank you enough for all the help you have been to me even when I have been at my "thickest"

You're always most welcome.

Ah, ok. I guess if the target path for the snip had the old drive letter, then that could have been why.

Damn it's of again and I cannot get scannow either to check out the drive / system.

I saw a ref to checking for logs of scannow but there was none.

Do I do repair install of the OS?

What happens when you try to run a sfc /scannow command in Windows 7 or at boot?

You would need to type sfc /scannow in a elevated command prompt and press Enter instead.

Ok Shawn will do. Hum telling me I must be an admin running a console session in order to use the sfc utility.

If I could send a snip I'd show you what I see.
