Recovering Lost Data on Your Drive

If you lose your data, be sure to check the recycle bin
first. If there are no files in the recycle bin, there is still
hope. Even though your files are deleted, the data may
still be recoverable because the reference to the file
has simply been deleted and not the data itself. As long as your file has not been overwritten, you have a
    chance at recovery.
After trying many file recovery programs, I’ve decided
Recuva(Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File Recovery - Download) is by far the best.
Recuva (pronounced “recover”) is a freeware Windows
utility to restore files that have been accidentally
deleted from your computer. This includes files
emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and
other files that have been deleted by user error from
digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will
even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs,
    crashes and viruses!

    Where's the tutorial?
Looks like you're trying to explain something about Recuva. However, you should've elaborated something on its usage and some screenshots perhaps.

What are the names of the many programs that you tried?

How many files were recovered by each?

Why did you decide Recuva was the best?

Or did you read this ?

I actually just had a new Western Digital Caviar Blue with 16mb cache bomb out on me tonight. Because it was only like 3 weeks old I am not real happy. Not to mention the fact that I have 30 thousand songs on it along with all my audio projects and other audio stuff.

So I started looking around for ways to recover data. The drive was showing up as unpartitioned space and could not be seen outside of the management console. My guess is that the logic chip in the drive failed causing it to no longer hold a partition properly. Just a guess thought as I am not a drive engineer but it would make sense.

Anyways this program is what I am using and it is able to access and recover the data.

The program is called PC Inspector File Recovery. It does all the things you would expect. Recover files that were lost during a quick format or deleted from the recycling bin or as in my case from a drive that cannot be seen in windows normally.

I have to say it works great I am fully recovered from my drive failure and getting ready to send this drive back under warranty for a replacement.
