Windows 7: DVD software for multidvd burning.

DVD software for multidvd burning.

I have been mostly a Mac user and I have been out of the loop for sometime (5yrs).

I have some data that I need to have burned (user folder) that is 10gb. I would like to have this burned to DVD. What is a good program that would allow me to just drag the folder into the program and it will automatically burn multiple DVDs. Is Nero still top notch or has something replaced it? This software would be for a PC.

Thanks!!

CDBurnerXP is free and works great, and it allows spanning data across multiple DVDs.

I don't believe Windows 7 has the ability to split files among multiple DVDs. If you select a group of files and want the number of DVDs to be calculated automatically, I'm pretty sure you need a third party app to do it.

It will tell you if there is not enough space. You can always split the file - that is a no-brainer.

Yep, you can do that. Or, you can use burning software that takes care of it for you. It's not a problem for a few files, but if you are copying 10+ gig of files, figuring out what to split can take time - so why not let the burning software do it for you? It's just like using winrar/winzip/7zip to split an archive into smaller chunks - you specify the size and it separates the files to make everything work.
