    Getting rid of McAfee

I used IObit Uninstaller v2.1 to uninstall McAfee AVplus and Security Scan Plus from my computer. I was wondering if this would totally remove these programs? Also can anyone recommend good antivirus software that will not interfere with IObit Malware Fighter Pro? Thanks for any help.:)

Once you've gone through control panel > programs and features > uninstall to remove McAfee products, it's recommended that you follow-up by using the McAfee removal tool. You can find it on the Ultimate List of Uninstallers by Fred de Vries (item # 22a):

It's my understanding that IObit Malware Fighter Pro incorporates real time scanning. Many people (myself included) do not recommend running more than one real time scanner at a time. Very often the two scanners will see each other as a possible threat and slow a computer down. In extreme cases the computer could even crash. Rather than use another real time scanner I'd suggest you supplement your defenses with a free on-demand scanner like Malwarebytes, Hitman Pro, Superantispyware, etc.

I'm not a big fan of IObit, but that said, they say their Malware Fighter Pro is compatible with all AV products. In googling, I see Avast, Avira, and MSE recommended, much as you might find recommended here. A Guy
