Live Mesh or Dropbox? I've been using Dropbox because my school PC is Windows XP, but next year they will be switching to Windows 7 which is compatible. I'm hoping to switch to Live Mesh because it's a bit more unobtrusive and has remote desktop capabilities.
Anyone that uses Mesh a lot like it more? any suggestions?
I like how you can sync custom folders. With dropbox I have to mklink to sync the documents folder, but in Mesh I can sync specific folders within my documents. | My System Specs |

I'm a dropbox user myself. With any cloud service, I don't want to completely trust any of my data to the cloud. This is the reason that I like dropbox, everything is synced between my PC's and the cloud..so I have a local copy of the data. I believe previously that SkyDrive had a 50MB file limit, which has since increased to 100MB..
Since my home upload speeds are fairly slow, I don't store much in Dropbox, so the 2GB for free and the 1GB that I got free for referrals is more than enough. I don't really need the capacity of Sky Drive. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

i use both. dropbox is handy for quick uploads and getting a public link for posting pics in vm's and pm's here on the forum.
skydrive/mesh is good because you just choose the folders to sync and forget about them. until needed | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Hewlett packard/p6512uk OS Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 7600 CPU IIx4 amd athelon 635 processor Motherboard FOXCONN 2AA9 Memory 2x2gb Graphics Card ati radeon HD 5450 Sound Card (1) Realtek High Definition Audio (2) AMD High Definition Monitor(s) Displays samsung lcd tv 32" Screen Resolution 1360x 768 Keyboard wireless hp Mouse wireless Hp,optical PSU ? I'd be happy to provide an invite to anybody who wants Dropbox. When you use a referral, you get an extra 500MB and I get an extra 500MB. Just private message me with an invite request and I will send it your way. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

I used to use both, but I stopped using DropBox. I didn't have any specific issues with it, per se, but Live Mesh works great, with 5 GB of space, and gives me a quick link to the rest of my 25 GB SkyDrive account. It does everything DropBox can do, with a little more. It has a one button option to sync my Favorites and my Office signature, templates, etc as well. I no longer drag flash drives back and forth from work and home. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel Core i7-2600 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3P-B3 Memory 12 GB Patriot Extreme DDR3-1333 Graphics Card Nvidia GTX 470 Monitor(s) Displays Dell UltraSharp 2209WA PSU OCZ ModStream 700W Case CoolerMaster HAF 912 Advanced Cooling CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus Hard Drives OCZ Agility3 240 GB, WD5001AALS, WD7501AALS |

I'm definitely looking forward to favorites sync.
Once my exams are finished I think I'll uninstall dropbox and Chrome. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Apple 17" iMac MA199LL (Early 2006) OS Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit (upgrade) CPU 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo Memory 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300) (upgrade) Graphics Card ATI Radeon X1600 with 128MB GDDR3 memory Monitor(s) Displays 17-inch TFT active-matrix LCD, millions of colors Screen Resolution 1440 x 900 Keyboard Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600 Mouse Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse v2.0 Hard Drives Hitachi 320GB HDT721032SLA360 7200RPM SATA II (upgrade) Internet Speed 4 Mbps Antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials Browser Google Chrome Other Info WEI:

I do love the Chrome sync feature. I however don't use IE and haven't in so many years I often forget that it even exists.
I prefer DropBox still over SkyDrive/LiveMesh as all of the files are kept in 1 place. it's annoying that SkyDrive gives you 25GB of space, but LiveMesh can only utilize 5GB and the files are stored in different places. I guess they will be changing SkyDrive in the future to be all one location and the entire 25GB can be synced....but until then, I'm satisfied with DropBox. I've got nearly 5GB of free space now after referrals with DropBox and I'm only using 0.1% of my space. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD
